A Moment of Reflection Amidst the Chaos
“For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God” (1 Corinthians 15:9)
Much like Paul, you can firmly believe in something for a long time. You do what you think is right for the time being. Paul persecuted Christians for a long time. He consented to the death of Stephen, who spread the Word of God to the people who needed it most. But Paul changed his mind. He felt a deep regret for his words and actions.
Let’s apply this to life right now. Our world is a bit crazy right now, to say the least. But I want all of you to know that you are allowed to change your mind. If you feel conflicted about certain hot topics in the world right now, where your mind tells you one thing and your heart tells you another, I want you to go back to your Bible and start with the book of John.
Truly try to understand Jesus’ character. Don’t try to rationalize what doesn’t feel right in your heart.
Jesus sees ALL OF US as his children. If you are a parent, you know that your child could do the worst things imaginable, and you would still love them. You may not approve, but you will always love them. That is how Jesus sees us, that is how he saw the people who hated him the most, and that is how he wants us to see each other.
The next time you witness or hear of a crazy moment, please try to remember that we are ALL God’s children and the best way to combat the darkness is to be a light in this world.
